- Carefully select the installation location of the water heater, lint and fine powderContaminants such as flour can block the air intake and reduce fan operation. This inturn, can lead to burning anomalies and shorten the life of the water heater.Regularly ensure thatthe area around the water heater the air inlet are free of dust.debris and other contaminants.
- Water temperatures above 125 F(52°C) can cause severe burns or burns. The factory watertemperature is set at 107 F(42 °C) to minimize the risk of burns.Always check the watertemperature before taking a shower or shower.
- Do not use this product if it is immersed in water.
- In the event of a burn back, where the flame burns back to the jets, immediately turn off thegas supply at the control valve on the front panel, After ensuring the flames are extinguished,re-light the appliance in the normal manner. Should the appliance again burn back, close thecontrol valve and call a service technician to examine the appliance.
- Do not use theappliance again until the service technician has declared it is safe to do so.·Do not use this appliance if it is leaking gas (see notes below on how to check for a gasleak).
If there is an apparent gas leak, (smell of gas) close the control valve on the appliance.Make sure that there no naked flames within 5 meters of the appliance and check for leaksas described below.
Never check for leaks with a naked flame as this is extremely dangerous.
- To check for a gas leak, use a brush dipped in a soapy water solution (e.g. water withdishwashing liquid added) and apply the solution to alljoints in the system. If there is a leak, turn off the gas supply at the isolation valve which the installer will provide as part of theinstallation. Call a service technician to examine the appliance and do not use the applianceuntil the service technician has declared it s safe to do so. Should you suspect a leak at thecylinder connections (outside the house) apply the soapy water solution to the visible jointssuch as where the regulator fits into the cylinder or where the regulator fits into the flexiblehose, or the joints on the manifold if fitted. If there is a leak a bubble or bubbles will form. Ifyou are unable to stop the leak at this point, turn off the cylinder valve or valves and call aservice technician to correct the fault. As with leaks inside the premises do not use the appliance until the service technician has declared that it is sate to do so.
- Ensure that the appliance is used away from flammable materials. Ensure that thesurrounding area is clear of flammable materials for a minimum of 1 metre all round theappliance.
- This appliance is fitted with a mains powered auto ignition device. Ensure the plug isconnected and the wall switch is on.
- Check that the gas is turned on at the cylinder valve. Open the water valve (See Fig 6) andcheck that the water flowing from the outlet pipe or nozzle. This will automatically ignite theburners.
- Changing the position of the water flow valve knob will reduce or increase the water flowand the water temperature. The slower the water runs the hotter it will be. Conversely thefaster the water runs the colder the water temperature will be.
- To increase the water flow, turn the knob in an anticlockwise direction and clockwise to reduce the flow.
- Once you have set the water flow to the required level it is possible to increase anddecrease the gas flow being supplied to the burners and will increase or reduce the watertemperature for any given water flow setting.
When in use or immediately after use do not touch the water heater, apart from the burneror water control knobs. Be aware that the area around the observation window becomesextremely hot.
2.Installation instructions
2.1 A hot water tap is turned on.
2.2 Water enters the heater.
2.3 The water flow sensor detects the water flow.
2.4 The computer initiates the fan motor and sends a signal to the igniter to create anignition spark.
2.5 The gas ignites and flames appear within the burner chamber.2.6 Water circulates through the heat exchanger and then gets hot.2.7 Using thermistors to measure temperatures throughout the water heater, the computermodulates the gas and water valves to ensure proper output water temperature.2.8 When the tap is turned off, the unit shuts down.2.9 When ignition occurs, if the outlet water temperature exceeds 185°F (85°C), the waterheater will cease operation.
